Will all my contacts on my current SIM card be transferred to the replacement SIM card?

– Updated

No, because this is an entirely new SIM card. You will keep your phone number, credit and bundles, but SMS and/or contacts on your current SIM card, will not be transferred. SO it’s best you save those to your device, and/or sync them to your Google account (Android) or your Apple account (iOS).

On some Android devices you can check if any contacts have been saved to your SIM card:

  1. Open your Android’s Contacts app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Go to Account Contacts

Here, you can see how many numbers have been saved to your Google account. If you’ve saved contacts to your SIM card, you can save those to your device by returning to the previous menu (step 2), en dan go to “Import from SIM card”. To avoid you ever have to do this again, we’d recommend to always link your contacts to your Google account, and not save any locally (to you SIM card or phone).

On an iOS device you can’t see how many contacts have been saved to your SIM card, but it’s easy to transfer them to your iCloud account:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Contacts
  3. Import SIM contacts
