Free extra bundles following Corona crisis

As of March 19 until April 30 (at midnight, to be precise), all Mobile Vikings will have unlimited calling minutes for free to all national numbers. Landlines and mobile phones. Everybody receives two extra unlimited calling bundles: these bundles will be visible in the My Viking app and in their account on the website. One is valid until April 5, the second until April 30.

On top of that, we’re doubling your mobile data per individual phone number until April 5 until a maximum of 5 GB. For example: if you have a prepaid SIM card with 2 GB, you’ll get 4 GB. If you have a subscription with 10 GB of mobile data, you get an additional 5 GB. These bundles will be added as from March 19, but keep in mind it will take a few days to add all of them.

How does a free additional bundle work?

It’s simple. You’ll receive one additional mobile data bundle (valid until April 5) and two calling bundles (one valid until April 5, the other until April 30). You’ll see them in your account on the website, and in the My Viking app. In practice, you’ll be using the bundle that expires first. So let’s say you have a bundle that would expire next week, you’ll use that bundle first. But if you have a bundle that expires next month, you’ll use the additional bundle first.

If you have a prepaid card, as of April 6 you'll first use all your calling credit to place calls like you normally would. As soon as that's done, your second unlimited calling bundle will become active until April 30. If in the meantime you were to top up, again all your calling credit will be used before the unlimited calling bundle becomes active.

How long is an additional bundle valid?

The free additional data bundle will expire on April 5. The first additional calling bundle will expire on April 5, the second on April 30.

I have an Unlimited subscription. What do I get?

If you have an Unlimited subscription, we’ll change our fair use policy for you until April 5, and you’ll surf at a lower speed after having used 25 GB instead of 20 GB.

I have an 8 GB Data Only tariff plan. What do I get?

If you have an 8 GB Data Only tariff plan, you'll also get an additional 5 GB data bundle, valid until April 5.

I have a 2 GB Only Data prepaid card. What do I get?

If you have a 2 GB Only Data prepaid card, we'll double your data with an additional 2 GB data bundle, valid until April 5.

I joined Mobile Vikings after March 19 and before April 5. What do I get?

Between March 19 and April 30, we'll check every working day for any new Vikings that haven't received the free bundles yet. They'll also get them as soon as possible after joining. 

How will this work as of April 6 for people who have a prepaid card?

If you have a prepaid card, as of April 6 you'll first use all your calling credit to place calls like you normally would. As soon as that's done, your second unlimited calling bundle will become active until April 30. If in the meantime you were to top up, again all your calling credit will be used before the unlimited calling bundle becomes active.

I have a prepaid card. What happens to the unlimited calling bundle if I top up?

If, between April 6 and April 30, you have an active second unlimited calling bundle and you top up, again all your calling credit will be used before the unlimited calling bundle becomes active.

I have a prepaid card. What happens to the unlimited calling bundle if I place an international call or want to purchase a ticket from De Lijn?

If you want to place an international call or want to purchase a ticket from De Lijn, you will need calling credit. If you have calling credit left, you'll use that like you normally would. If you have no calling credit left and you're already using your unlimited calling bundle, you do a top-up. Then, again, all, your calling credit will be used first before the unlimited calling bundle becomes active again.

I have a prepaid card. I'm out of calling credit, I have the unlimited calling bundle but I need to make a call to a paying number. What do I do?

In that case you should top up. Then, again, all, your calling credit will be used first before the unlimited calling bundle becomes active again.
